My fiance’s mother bought homes in Tiburon, north of San Francisco, California after marrying a stock broker. Her mother’s father founded the Royal Dutch Shell Group headquartered in the Hague. I toured the Hague in 1988, but didn’t become engaged to the daughter of the second largest energy company in the world until the mid-nineties as I joined a team of Creative Directors to consolidate the first online advertising for Adobe Systems, Charles Schwab International Electronic Brokerage and Intuit software for financial accounting. Business kept me traveling from San Francisco to Jacksonville, Florida. Florida to Santa Barbara, California, where our atomic force microscopes were acquired by Veeco Metrology based out of headquarters in the State of New York.
